Executive Summary The function of Fasta / SteelCo. is to make commercial and affordable housing construction materials affordable by producing steel frame, panelized structures, using a building system that can be easily produced and erected and requires only a short training period for those with no prior construction skills. The idea is to keep it simple. The target market is the U.S affordable home market, commercial market and low cost homes for developing countries. Fasta / SteelCo. has set the bar for automated steel framed, panelized building materials. Our product is built to the same local building codes as conventional "stick built" onsite homes by skilled craftsmen but our materials are manufactured in a factory environment unaffected by weather conditions during production. Production takes place on an assembly line, with components moving from workstation to workstation for steel panelized framing. Materials for four average size home of 1,700 - 2,200 sq. ft can be produced in just a day. Concurrent with the successful initial market acceptance and utilization of panelized homes, has been the advancement of alternative materials to effectively compete against traditional stick and/or concrete built homes. Our technological solution is combining structural strength and insulation in a single element and created a product that exceeds both the Miami-Dade Hurricane Code and the proposed 2007 High Wind Shelter Code. Our solution is weather resilient and durable. Building the Old Way Wood Frame Houses in tropical environments after nine years are susceptible to termite infestation. They fall to earthquakes, hurricane winds and moisture. Wood frame homes are less energy efficient and are NOT environmentally friendly. We plan to produce quality, energy efficient, green qualified, LEED certified, insect free, mold free, durable and resilient to environmental and climate conditions, cost effective, beautiful homes. Furthermore, we make an effort to offer green and environmentally friendly options to your specific design. The engineering is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) compliant, which can greatly reduce operating costs as prices of fossil fuels increase. Using our method of construction the builder and development will receive LEED credits. Building the Fasta / SteelCo. Way Steel Panelized Framing (Energy Efficient, Environmentally Friendly) Our materials are built in an automated panelized fashion, in a controlled atmosphere for greater productivity. Fasta / SteelCo. are working with the Steel Framing Alliance, Bayer Insulation, and Energy Wise Structures to insure energy efficient building practices. The Steel Framing Alliance is focused on increasing market share in the Gulf Coast Region and plans to commit several million dollars toward that effort via training and marketing. The Steel Framing Alliance is also working with FEMA and HUD to insure that steel is a large part of the rebuilding effort. It is estimated by those organizations that approximately 300,000 homes need to be rebuilt in the damaged area in the next 2-3 years. Prior to the hurricanes, the Gulf Coast region had only slightly over 4% market share for single family steel homes and half that for multi-family construction. The goal of the Steel Framing Alliance is to achieve a 50% market share for both single family and multi-family construction and advice heavily during the rebuild effort. The first year will be critical for the Company and, as such, it has defined the following as strategic assets to ensure success. • A commitment to the use of lean manufacturing technology to control costs and streamline the production process. • An emphasis on quality service and customer satisfaction. • Accurate estimating using a combination of automated spreadsheets, CAD modeling and historical data along with over 20 years of estimating. • Implementation of a customer approval processes that minimizes costly errors and design charges. • The right mix of product and services, including single family housing, multi-family construction, sub-division development and design. Fasta / SteelCo. have brought together expertise in architecture, engineering, manufacturing and software development to produce a new standard in construction. Fasta / SteelCo. have developed a cutting edge design and manufacturing modeling software. The new technology has already demonstrated its effectiveness in Mississippi where Fasta / SteelCo. have projects under construction. Newly engineered building components designed to withstand 150 mph hurricane winds, are delivered directly to the site, and erected. Fasta / SteelCo. have plans for international expansion in the areas of software development, manufacturing, engineering and shell home construction. The Technology What Distances Us From The Competition? Speed With our high-tech building system, it's all about speed. Ready-to-assemble building components arrive on schedule and can be constructed 40-60 percent faster than traditional wood framing methods; saving you time and money. Ease of Use Manufactured with the aid of cutting-edge technology and controlled factory conditions, exterior and interior building components are produced; this includes wall systems, joists and trusses. These components are loaded and shipped directly to the job site. Materials are marked at the factory with an assembly code to eliminate confusion, making it easy to install (i.e., wall "A-1" joins wall "A-2"). With minimal man-power, the wall-systems are made from light-gauge steel framing and foam insulation can easily be set in place, easy in terms of less skilled labor, time, and accuracy. Based off of a 20 - man production team with 10-12 production tables, based on one shift, building standardized panels, we can produce about 4 million sq. ft. of wall panels per year. Two men per table can produce 150 sq. ft. of panels per hour. 10 production tables with two men per table can produce 1500 sq. ft. per hour. 20 production workers can produce 12,000 sq. ft. of standardized panels per 8-hour shift. The plant can build 60,000 sq. ft. of standardized panels per 40 hour work week. The manufacturing plant can produce approximately 1,200,000 sq. ft. per month, based on 1 shift. The manufacturing plant has the capacity to produce 12,000,000 sq. ft of standardized panels per year. Cost of Quality With improved quality and quicker on-site erection time often comes greater material costs. Not in our case. Our high-tech building system is very competitive with traditional construction methods, in most cases beating the competition hands down. When you consider the cost reduction in terms of time of construction, reduced chance of theft, fewer weather delays, less on-site waste, improved energy efficiency, and less skilled labor, the bottom-line savings and overall costs are impressive. Accuracy The engineered building system is made in a controlled environment, accurate quality control measures eliminate waste and ensure that code requirements and manufacturer specifications are met. Unlike traditional construction methods that allow up to 1 ½-inch on-site dimensional variance, we utilize a system that delivers a precision of 1/8-inch tolerance on both commercial and residential projects. Stability The strength and fire protection of the high-tech building system offers significant advantages over traditional stick-frame and basic steel framing. The galvanized steel is placed in the foam via our patented cut-in process. This provides a very strong wall assembly, significantly reducing possible bending and twisting of the stud while providing additional strength. Energy Efficiency The insulated wall system provides a better overall air tightness and thermal control. It significantly reduces conductivity through the wall's exterior via a 1 ½ - i nch foam thermal break. This prevents extreme temperature loss and gain and significantly increases the sound transmission class rating of the wall assembly. Light gauge steel is a thinner more flexible version of the heavy steel used for those massive projects, but offers many of the same advantages. Our framing design uses advanced software to custom design wall panels, floor systems, and roof trusses for residential or commercial projects. The completed design package includes engineering drawings, layouts, and construction details. The roll forming process uses the output of the design software to cut C-studs and track to length, greatly enhancing the accuracy and speed of fabrication. Roll forming is also available to support on site fabrication of large projects and to provide contractors custom-cut materials. Energy Efficient, Environmentally Friendly Building Systems Fasta Inc. and SteelCo. Industries represent new and improved innovative methods of building. We provide energy efficient, environmentally friendly steel panelized building panels for affordable, residential and commercial build projects. Our materials, method and process are fast to build energy efficient, environmentally friendly and cost the same or less than conventional building. There are two panel building systems that we use. Building system one is a steel panelized system with a bio-based polyurethane foam insulation. Once the panel and wall are produced, the panel is then set into place on the foundation. The panels are exact. After each panel (wall) is put up, then an interior bio-based polyurethane spray foam is sprayed into the wall at a four to six inch depth, to create a higher R-Value.
