Hello I am looking for well established, well located Jatropha curcas project to invest in. Project should already be up and running, with a significant number of hectares already planted demonstrating or close to producing commercial yields. But with a desire to further dvelop the business model with increased capital.
We would need evidence of land tenure, land assessments and appropriate R&D.
I'm also interested in this area, although this is Africa, you have to do the due diligence and your ROI will be better if you do the legwork. The large EU consortiums don’t need your money, and the villagers won’t be reading the Internet, so that’s the problem we have.
The trees actually grow pretty fast, 18 months.
I think to do it right, we need to get on a plane and go check out the regions, judge political stability, water supplies, whether tankers have access, local government regulations and tribal customs.
Besides Jatropha and basic oil processing at least, doing the legwork will very likely result in other opportunities, which are likely needed.
I think one guy in Africa doing the management and one guy in Europe processing carbon credits and potential biodiesel markets could work well.

Are there any one having the intensive feasibility study of the Jatropha projects. ?
There are so many misleading information in the past few years with the over claims in productivity yield of this crop and under claim of the agronomy in put.
All the projects were end up with failure to be wrapped
Most of the project developers are having very little knowledge of this crop and came with the hype to promote the crops .
